JotNot Scanner is able to scan and convert documents, receipts, whiteboards, business cards and notes into picture format (Only Pro version supports converting to PDF format).

It is more than just a camera app. It uses proprietary image processing (similar to the imaging technology used in flatbed scanners) to automatically remove shadows, correct contrast and adjust white balance, so that your scanned documents come out looking as crisp and clear as possible every time. 

One of the techniques to create striking photos is to turn a photo into black and white, and only coloring the subject/detail of the photo. See the screenshots below!
